And we have lots of options for any room you may be remodeling or building; kitchen, bathroom, patio, – we tackle them all!

Tile floors

Tile is the most common form of floor finishing there is in the United States. The pros of a tile floor include:

  • Durable
  • Little maintenance needed
  • Easy to clean
  • Affordable

However, in order to enjoy many years of beautiful tiling, you need to first have the floor base constructed well and level. You then need to select quality tile with a nice design that goes well with the rest of the house – walls, ceilings, and furniture. After that there’s installation. If not installed well, tiles could come off over time, or even crack and break. We see this a lot with large tile pieces especially. The amount of adhesive for the tiling used has to be mixed and applied right. The tiles then need to be leveled accurately and grouted well. Even the color of the grouting is important for that beautiful finish.

Natural stone floors

Stone floors are a good change from the usual tile patterns. They give off an earthy and warm feel & look. Natural stone floors are especially perfect for rust floors or Mediterranean designs. Considering the warm climate of Los Angeles, natural stone tiles go well here and are perfect for patios, bathrooms, and other indoor spaces as well. There are different types of natural stone tiles to choose from – starting with uncut to cut and even polished and sealed stone tiles. Our LA design center has great natural stone flooring ideas that you can check out.

Concrete floors

Though not very common, concrete floors are a unique, simple, yet edgy, option. They give off a modern/ contemporary feel that goes well with minimalistic architectural design concepts. You can apply concrete floors all through your build or you can experiment in different rooms of your property such as bathrooms and recreational rooms. When mixed with waterproofing components and given some color, concrete floors can do well in any build, especially in warmer zones such as California.

Wood floors

For many years now, wood floors have been an attractive design option for many people looking to renovate their homes or build a new one. And we get the appeal. Wood is a natural, attractive, and simple design element that can be used anywhere. Many homeowners also love the insulation property in wood that keeps the floors warm 24/7, all year round. We invite you to explore our custom wood flooring options and enjoy the best that this option has to offer. We know how to install laminate and natural wood floors really well. And if you need variety we have different staining options as well.

Hate cold bathroom floors after taking a hot shower? Or when you put your feet on the floor first thing in the morning as you’re getting out of bed? Our LA design build team can offer you floor heating options to ensure that your feet stay cozy even in winter months. It’s a little luxury that will put a smile on your face every day.

FAQ

What is the most durable type of flooring?

Porcelain and ceramic tiles are. Although other options such as hard wood floors come second, ceramic and porcelain tile’s durability is not dependent on maintenance. On their own they can resist moisture, dirt, stains, heat, and even fire.

How do I choose flooring for my house?

First examine your preferences. It is important that you choose an option that you will be happy to live with. Then look at the design style of the entire house and match that with the appropriate flooring design. If you want a contemporary design, marble floors, ceramic tiles, and concrete tiles are great. Then pair the color design themes with the color of the floor material to achieve visual harmony.

Should we go with a concrete floor or timber floor?

A lot of factors come into play with such a decision. And we would be better placed to answer if we knew your location, your needs, and what type of a structure you want to put up. Timber has old traditional/rustic charm and is warm to the touch. However, it needs maintenance and gentle care. Concrete is a modern approach with a clean look but can be plain to those who don’t feel its appeal. The big con with concrete is that it’s intensive to pour and lay. However, it makes up for that with amazing durability, strength, and minimal maintenance.
